Dil Aakhir Tu Kyun Rota Hai...

There is one scene in “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” , where Arjun ( I really don’t mind calling Hrithik by the Character’s name in place of the much bigger star he is because Zoya succeeded in bringing out the actor out of a star), after experiencing Scuba diving for the first time says ”Aisa laga jaise, Bas saans lete raho”.
This somehow sets the tone of the movie .
To which Imraan replies “agar do dubki lagaane se tumhaara yeh haal hai, toh tumhe lifetime underwater hi rehna chahiye”.

After “Udaan” this was another movie with such soulful poems.

Jab jab dard ka baadal chhaaya,
Jab jab gham ka saaya lehraaya,
Jab aansoo palkon tak aaya,
Jab ye tanha dil ghabraaya,
Humne dil ko yeh samjhaaya,
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai,
Duniya mein yunhi hota hai,
Ye jo gehre sannaate hain,
Waqt ne sabko hi baante hain,
Thoda gham hai sabka kissa,
Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa,
Aankh teri bekaar hi num hai,
Har pal ek nayaa mausam hai,
Kyun tu aise pal khota hai,
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai...

Another one after Arjun being breathless, teary eyed and all four after their scuba diving experience, sharing few minutes of silence among themselves was scene stealer…

Pighle neelam sa behtaa ye samaa,
Neeli neeli si khaamoshiyaan,
Na kahin hai zameen na kahin aasmaan,
Sarsaraati hui tehniyaan pattiyaan,
keh rahi hain bas ek tum ho yahaan, bas main hoon,
Meri saansein hain aur meri dhadkanein,
Aisi gehraaiyaan, aisi tanhaaiyaan,
Aur main… sirf main.
Apne hone par mujhko yakeen aa gaya.

And how tactically correct the team of “Zindagi Na milegi Dobara” were, when they never promoted the poems except this one.

Dilon mein tum apni Betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho, Toh zinda ho tum,
Nazar mein khwaabon ki Bijliyaan leke chal rahe ho, Toh zinda ho tum,
Hawaa ke jhokon ke jaise Aazaad rehna sikho,
Tum ek dariya ke jaise Lehron mein behnaa sikho,
Har ek lamhe se tum milo Khole apni baahein,
Har ek pal ek naya samay dekhe ye nigaahein,
Jo apni aankhon mein Hairaaniyaan leke chal rahe ho, Toh zinda ho tum...

P.S. Javed Akhtar is in his top form [when he is not, I know]. I guess there were four poems in the movie but I don't remember the third one.
